About Me:
Graduate of Saint Louis Community College Forest Park with Associate of Applied Science in Electronic Engineering.
I have completed about 116 credit hours including other areas of study such as automotive technology, computer aided drafting.
My first experience with programming was on, as I remember, an Atari game system with a floppy drive, a keyboard, & ROM basic module built-in. I couldn't play Pacman very well, so I started typing in code from a book about electronic circuit analysis. There was only enough memory to load sections of code at a time. I had to figure out how to create a simple menu that would run modules of code, & then do a call back to the menu. Ironically I wouldn't do application development for at least another 15? years.
I Currently have the following list of skills:
- 15+ years experience with AutoCad's AutoLisp compilable programming language.
- 5+ years developing MS Access 200-2003 applications what I consider big, small & in between.
- Tables, queries, forms, reports.
- Form module VBA functions & subs.
- Global module VBA functions & subs.
- 4+ years supporting my MS Access front-ends with MySQL 4.X - 5.1 development.
- There are things I have learned about SQL DB administration, I don't consider myself a DBA.
- MDL & DDL statements.
- Using MySQL GUI development tools to create modify, maintain, or run MySQL:
- Tables
- Views (queries)
- Relational integrity between tables.
- Unique indexes; simple & compound.
- Foreign keys on both simple & compound indexes.
- Cascade Inserts, Updates, Deletes.
- Triggers.
- Stored procedures.
- Backups & restores.
- Recovered crashed DB installations.
- Migrating data a/o structures from one location to another.
- 4+ years developing & maintaining AutoCAD 2002+.
- VBA forms., modules, functions & subs.
- Also supported by MySQL Data storage / sharing.
- Sometimes in collaberating with MS Access applications / tools.
- I try to leave MS Excel programming to others, but to no avail.
- When I have used it, it has been sparingly and usually stand-alone, or for printing out.
- I have picked up some other things lately:
- Linux OS experience using Ubuntu 7.04-8.04.
- HTML / PHP. Definitely still learning but can:
- Login to a MySQL database and Select, Insert, Update, & delete records.
- Sample of HTML/PHP/MySQL code.
